In England’s Green and Pleasant Land

This week’s Project 52 theme is Green.

I wanted to get more adventurous with this week’s photos but lets face it, it would be useless trying to ignore the fact that the colour green is everywhere in the UK, especially at the moment. The weather has been dire for the last few weeks, with constant rains, storms and flooding, and our plant life is doubly flourishing, dense and richly coloured.

For those of you visiting my blog from abroad, welcome to the greens of England:

Aside from the beauty factor, there’s another benefit to our recent deluge: we’re officially in the middle of a drought, therefore a hose-pipe ban, and we haven’t had to water our lawn*! It’s grown wildly out of control all on it’s own. Think it’s time to get the lawn mower out!

(*The first picture is not of our lawn. I only wish it was).

Check out Nicky’s blog Salt and Sparkle for the luscious greens of our beautiful neighbour, Ireland.

  1. These shots are beautiful. Did you use your new lense? What do you think? I love the weeping willow type tree. Stunning shot it looks so gentle.

Thank you for the mention. You are so kind.

    Love you

    • Yes, this is from my new lens! I love it, although getting used to moving around rather than using zoom lenses is a bit of a steep learning curve!

Love your photos of Ireland, made me want to jump straight back on the plane. Hope to be there again soon! Xxx

  2. Visiting via P52. I live in England too :) A friend of mine recently said this was the rainiest drought she’d experienced – classic! Lovely photos you have shared :)

    • Hi happyhomemarkeruk! It’s true, I can’t believe that all this rain isn’t collectable somehow – I’m already trying to work out how to put a waterbutt in the garden to store some for the summer..

      Thanks for visiting!
